New Hope Man Accused of Day Care Sex Assault
A New Hope man is accused of molesting a 9-year-old girl at a home day care run by his mother.
Prosecutors filed first degree criminal sexual conduct charges Monday against Rodolfo Villalobos-Mena.
According to the criminal complaint, the incident occurred in August at apartments on Xylon Avenue.
New Hope police Sgt. Tim Fournier said, "Apparently the adult son of the day-care provider, who when, the day-care provider was taking a shower or doing other things, performed inappropriate sexual advances on little girls."
Police said Villalobos-Mena partially undressed and touched his victim.
Police said the victim's mother took her to a therapist who reported the incident to authorities.
Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman said, "His inappropriate activity are such that he deserves to do real time."
Late Monday, 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS learned New Hope police launched an investigation into a second possible incident involving the same victim.
