Lakeland Shores Murder Victim Identified

Authorities identified the man found dead inside a pickup truck Tuesday morning in Lakeland Shores.

The Washington County Sheriff's Office said the man was 37-year-old Juan Calvillo Bolanos of California, who was also known as Eduardo Escobar Felix.

Investigators don't know Bolanos' most recent address or what he was doing in Minnesota.

They have determined that the truck, which bore Minnesota license plates LRY427, was registered to Tirso Pineda, 39, of Washington State.

Officials said Pineda is a person of interest in the investigation.

The sheriff's office is asking for the public's help locating Pineda and learning more about Bolanos.

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward for information leading to an arrest.

The murder upset residents in Lakeland Shores, a town of just 300, located on the St. Croix River, that is not used to violent crime.
