Wild Players and Management Threatened During Game

St. Paul Police are investigating a threat made against the Minnesota Wild. The threat, targeting players and management, was emailed to the Xcel Energy Center at 9:25 during the third period of Wednesday night's game.

Security alerted police after reading it.

St. Paul Police are not giving out many details, but describe the threat as disturbing in nature. Police don't know who sent the threat but say investigators are using computer forensics to determine the source.

The Wild issued a statement Thursday saying "the Minnesota Wild take any safety issue very seriously. We are aware of this matter and have alerted the proper authorities. At this time, we have no further comment."

Officials are asking anyone with any information about this case to contact St. Paul Police.
