New Minn. Web Site Simplifies Charitable Giving

A new web site aims to help generous Minnesotans better manage their charitable giving and connect them with the causes they champion.

The web site GiveMN.org launches next month.

It will provide a guide to more than 20,000 Minnesota charities and non-profit organizations, including PawPads in Savage.

Linda Ball runs the non-profit which trains service dogs for people with disabilities.

Ball said in this economy, finding donors is a huge challenge.

Ball said, "It's brutal, especially for small organizations where a few people where a lot of hats."

She hopes the new web site will bring in extra support and Dana Nelson, the executive director of GiveMN.org thinks it will.

Nelson said, "It's a place where you can shop for a charity of your choice."

The site will also allow donors to manage their charitable giving by recording online and offline contributions and storing receipts.
