A grand jury will meet next month to consider charges in the death of a man shot by a Le Sueur County sheriff's deputy.

Deputy Todd Waldron shot Tyler Heilman, 24, to death in the parking lot of an apartment building in Kasota July 20.

Waldron had pulled over Heilman's vehicle. The two struggled and Heilman was shot.

Witnesses said Heilman was unarmed and wearing only swimming trunks. They also said Waldron, a plainclothes deputy, did not identify himself as a law enforcement officer.

The Anoka County Attorney's Office will convene the grand jury Nov. 4. The Anoka County Attorney's Office is handling the case on behalf of the Le Sueur County Attorney's Office due to a conflict of interest.
