Millions Paid to Settle MPD Conduct Cases
Millions of taxpayer dollars are being used to settle legal disputes involving the Minneapolis Police Department. The vast majority involved complaints about officer conduct.
5 EYEWITNESS NEWS has learned 84 percent of all settlements in the last six years involved people who felt they were wronged by officers.
According to numbers from the Minneapolis City Attorney the amount of money spent in officer conduct settlements so far in 2009 could pay 23 average officer salaries.
