St. Paul's Dorothy Day Center Being Demolished

The Dorothy Day Center, which has stood on Sixth Street West in downtown St. Paul since 1981, is being demolished.

The demolition is taking place to make way for Phase 2 of a new center to be known as Higher Ground St. Paul.

"What will arise here are services and opportunities, health care and job training," said Tim Marx, the president and CEO of Catholic Charities. "And most importantly, more housing."
