A central Minnesota man died after a vehicle he was working on slipped off a jack, causing it to land on his chest.

The incident was reported Monday on the 30800 block of First Avenue Northeast in St. Joseph Township.

The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call from a woman who said she arrived home to find her husband trapped under a vehicle in the garage.

Emergency crews responded, and the man was pronounced dead. He was identified as 58-year-old Gary Glein.

The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office says Glein was changing the oil of a Chevrolet HHR and was on a mechanic's cart under the vehicle when it slipped off the jack and landed on him.
