A woman who had been reported missing since Feb. 2 was found in rural Akeley Saturday night.

According to Cass County Sheriff Tom Burch, at 8:15 p.m. Saturday the body of 27-year-old Kara Blevins, of Akeley, Minnesota, was found by the Cass County Sheriff's Office in a wooded area in the Chippewa National Forest.

An autopsy is scheduled with the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office. The case remains under investigation.

Blevins had originally been reported missing from a residence on Howard Lake Road on Feb. 5. Extensive investigations, including ground and air searches, had been done in the days following the report. 

The case is a joint effort by the Cass County Sheriff's Office, Hubbard County Sheriff's Office, Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, Akeley Police Department and the Minnesota State Patrol.

The agencies involved would like to thank the public for their tips and information on this case.
