Robbinsdale police are investigating what led up to a man with a gunshot wound dying in a vehicle outside a residence early Monday.

Police received a report of gunshots fired in the area of 42nd and Welcome avenues at midnight Monday.

Upon arrival, authorities found a man with a gunshot wound in a vehicle outside a residence on the 5600 block of 42nd Avenue.

Authorities pronounced the man deceased at the scene. Multiple agencies, including the Hennepin County crime lab, assisted at the scene and in the ongoing investigation.
