Authorities have charged a man – arrested at a residence where an 18-year-old pregnant woman was killed in St. Paul Friday – with a drug-related charge.
Ramsey County prosecutors have charged 19-year-old Luis Isaac Chacon-Villeda with fifth-degree sale of marijuana, a felony.
According to the criminal complaint, police arrived at the home on the 1900 block of Cottage Avenue in St. Paul after reports that a woman was shot in the head.
The victim, 18-year-old Eileen Viveros-Vargas, of Landfall, was pregnant at the time of her death, and the unborn child did not survive, St. Paul police said.
The complaint states first responders found Chacon-Villeda giving Viveros-Vargas CPR in the bedroom. However, authorities also discovered marijuana in the bedroom.
After obtaining a search warrant, police found several bags and jars of marijuana totaling 482.56 grams – or 1.06 pounds – a scale, $2,101 in cash and a handgun, court documents state.
Chacon-Villeda admitted to police the marijuana belonged to him, and that he sold the drug in his neighborhood, the complaint said.
Police say the investigation continues.
