Pipe Burst in Old Macy's Parking Garage

Fire officials had to shut off a water pipe that burst Tuesday night in the old Macy's parking garage in downtown Minneapolis, according to Bryan Tyner, with the Minneapolis Fire Department.

The pipe burst around 5:30 p.m. Tyner said the pipe was a stand pipe, which is used by firefighters to connect hoses to.

Tyner said it is typical for pipes to burst after a deep freeze.
