Arrestees Protesting Verdict in Yanez Trial Identified

Fourteen adults and four juveniles protesting the verdict in the Jeronimo Yanez case were arrested Saturday morning and were identified Monday morning.

The protest took place along Interstate 94 and ended at the Governor's Residence in St. Paul. Protesters had blocked traffic in both directions on the interstate for several hours before Minnesota State Patrol began making arrests.

The 14 adults face unlawful assembly charges. One also faces a fourth-degree assault charge. Those who were arrested have been identified as:

  • John Ryan Waters, 29
  • Savah Irene Dye, 45
  • Shijun Du, 25
  • Anna Marie Appelbaum, 57
  • Jane Dodson Hornsby, 22
  • Samuel Jacob Doten, 23
  • Madelynn Rose Kerstetter, 20
  • Alexander Thomas Malm, 19
  • Clinton Lamonie Thomas, 31
  • Jeanelle Marie Carufel, 19
  • Sheniah Josaphin Johnson, 18
  • Jeremy Howard Isiah Little, 24
  • David James Clarey, 21

The four juveniles, who were all 16 years old, were not identified.
