The National Football League made it official Sunday night: Justin Timberlake will headline the halftime show at Super Bowl LII in Minneapolis.

It had been reported late last month a deal with Timberlake was being finalized for the Feb. 4 game at U.S. Bank Stadium.

The league reminds viewers in its release the gig will mark Timberlake's third performance, though many will have a hard time remembering anything before the infamous wardrobe malfunction alongside Janet Jackson in 2004 for Super Bowl XXXVII.

The NFL says the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show is the most-watched musical event of the year. Last year's show reached more than 150 million unique people across broadcast and digital channels.

A statement on the announcement from Maureen Bausch, CEO of the Minnesota Super Bowl Host Committee:

What a perfect choice! Minnesota is beyond excited to welcome Justin Timberlake to the Bold North to perform at the Super Bowl LII halftime show. Minnesotans can expect more exciting news about entertainment and all of the ways they can join in the celebration over the next 100-plus days as we countdown to Super Bowl LII.
