Starting April 10, Minneapolis St. Paul International Airport (MSP) will rename its general and short-term parking areas and combine both entrances into one, the Metropolitan Airports Commission said in a release Friday.
Short-term parking will become "hourly" parking in the Gold Ramp's third level and will be limited to four hours or fewer. All other spaces will be "daily" parking for people with longer-term parking needs.
The new combined entry plaza at Terminal 1 will have seven lanes, but the entrance for oversized vehicles will not change.
Construction will also begin soon on a new 5,000-space parking ramp, according to Metropolitan Airport Commission assistant director Atif Saeed.
Terminal 2, the Quick Ride Ramp and the valet garage are not affected by the changes.
