Minnesota Moment: Gold Medal Curlers Greeted in Duluth

Members of Team Shuster returned to Duluth on Monday to a cheering fan base eager to set eyes on the champs after their improbable defeat of top-ranked Sweden in pursuit of a gold medal in Pyeongchang.

The team that were heavy underdogs in the gold medal game on Saturday overcame the odds and used an improbable shot in the eighth end to defeat their rivals.

Skip John Shuster and teammates Tyler George, Matt Hamilton, John Landsteiner and Joe Polo were awarded gold in a USA first for curling. 

Shuster said Duluth Mayor Emily Larson will host a ceremony for the team Tuesday at the Duluth Entertainment and Convention Center.
