An 83-year-old Minneapolis man suffered an injury after he rolled an ATV and became stuck while tending to deer stands in St. Louis County Wednesday.

The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office says John Botzet was reported overdue or possibly missing after he had failed to return to a hunting shack in Beatty Township after leaving in the early afternoon to check deer stands.

A release says a county volunteer rescue squad was dispatched and found Botzet at 9:57 p.m. with his leg pinned under the ATV he had been driving. He had rolled the vehicle while descending a steep, rocky hill, the release says.

The rescue squad assisted Botzet out of the woods and he was transported by ambulance to the Cook Hospital for treatment of minor injuries, according to the release.
