Former Minnesota Vikings offensive tackle Matt Kalil now plays for the Carolina Panthers.

And he wasn't at the Maple Grove pizzeria he owns on Oct. 26. But he's still facing a charge of serving alcohol to a minor after the establishment - Pieology Pizzeria - failed an alcohol compliance check.

Kalil has been charged with a misdemeanor in Hennepin County court.

The criminal complaint states a Maple Grove police officer was conducting alcohol compliance checks with a 19-year-old that afternoon. The 19-year-old is alleged to have gone to the counter at Pieology at around 4:15 p.m. and ordered a bottle of beer. The server is alleged to have taken her money, given her change and directed her to a cooler where the beer was located.

According to the complaint, the server never asked for identification.

The Maple Grove officer is then reported to have identified herself and asked to speak to the general manager. The general manager is alleged to have informed the officer she was recently hired and had not gone through alcohol licensing training with the City of Maple Grove.

The officer then obtained a copy of the liquor license application for the establishment and determined the owner was Kalil.
