Minneapolis police said a man was shot as he tried to run away from an attempted robbery Saturday night. 

The incident happened just after 9:30 p.m. near the 3200 block of Oliver Avenue North, according to police. 


Police said a stranger approached the man, then shot him in the back as he began to run. The robber went through the man's pockets and fled on foot. 

Police found a gun near the scene, but no arrests have been made in connection with the case. 

The victim was in the hospital Sunday morning. Information was not immediately available on his condition.
