Man found dead after fire in Seward neighborhood of Minneapolis

A man was found dead in a residence that was on fire Thursday afternoon.

According to a release from the Minneapolis Fire Department, at around 3:20 p.m. fire crews responded to a residential structure fire on the 2500 block of 24th Street East.

When crews arrived they found a fire showing from the first floor. Crews found a man on the second floor and brought him out of the rear entrance where he was evaluated by paramedics for minor injuries.

A second man was found on the first floor "in the fire room of content," he was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Structure fire – 2500 block of 24th St. E. Lines laid through front door. Primary search complete and clear. Bulk of fire knocked down and checking for fire extension.
