The Minneapolis Police Department arrested a man in connection to an Aug. 7 shooting that left one man dead.

Jamal Kareem Newell is suspected of shooting two men at the intersection of 35 Avenue North and Penn Avenue North.

Both victims were taken to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale. One of the men in critical condition died, the other was treated for a non-life-threatening wound.

Newell is currently in the Hennepin County Jail being held on suspicion of second-degree murder.
