A Little Canada woman who was accused of stabbing her husband, exposing his intestines, has been found guilty, according to court records.

Denea Chiquita Griffo was found guilty of one count of third-degree assault.

Griffo pleaded not guilty in February.

According to the complaint, Ramsey County Sheriff's deputies were called around 11:30 p.m. on Jan. 1 on reports of an incident involving a knife. Upon arrival, officers located a male victim — later identified as Griffo's husband — who was holding his own intestines after suffering an apparent stab wound.

Griffo told investigators she had called her husband multiple times, but he did not answer the calls. She told police she believed she had heard a woman's voice when his phone was activated in his pocket.

According the complaint, the two began to argue when he arrived home. Griffo told investigators the two argued for about three minutes before the stabbing victim punched her in the face. Griffo said she must have "blacked out" and stabbed him.
