No arrests have been made in connection to a shooting early Thursday in a small city along the St. Croix River.
The Washington County Sheriff's Office had Riviera Avenue South between 17th and 19th streets in Lake St. Croix Beach taped off for hours as they investigated the incident.
According to the sheriff’s office, someone fired a number of rounds at a home on the 1800 block of Riviera Avenue South around 2:45 a.m. Thursday. One person was inside the home at the time of the shooting, but no injuries were reported.
Deputies say they found a number of spent shell casings in the street as well as a number of holes in the front of the home. Officials from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms assisted at the scene with a dog to sniff for shell casings.
One man who lives nearby told KSTP.com he heard between 15 and 20 shots fired at about 2:45 a.m. He initially thought the noise could have been firecrackers but later learned from authorities that someone had reported gunshots.
One man was detained for questioning but was later released, and no one else is in custody related to the shooting.
Anyone with information is asked to call 651-430-7854.
