KSTP's Chris Egert underwent a successful surgery and was already up and walking Wednesday.

Egert has been facing ankle issues for most of his life and decided the best way to address those issues was to amputate part of his leg, which he did earlier this week.

Several members of the KSTP team stopped by to see Egert, who said he and his family are thankful for all of the thoughts and prayers of those concerned.

You can send Egert well wishes and see his progress by following his Facebook page.

He said he's hoping to be back on the anchor desk in about six to eight weeks.
