KSTP anchor Chris Egert said his first follow-up appointment post surgery last week proved "things are progressing as planned."

In a Facebook post, Egert said his appointment was with Dr. Andrew Schmidt and the team at Hennepin County Medical Center.

He said his biggest challenge so far is "being a patient patient and learning to take it easy."

Meanwhile, Egert said he's continuing to receive notes from many people throughout Minnesota and the United States, including letters from a local grade school class.
