Whelan Security is now hiring employees to work at U.S. Bank Stadium events, after Monterrey Security Company was fired Tuesday.

SMG, the company in charge of overseeing the facility, terminated its contract Monday with Chicago-based Monterrey, based on findings from an investigation which showed the security company improperly classified employees.

Two other companies will take over security operations. Those are G4S Secure Solutions, which has an office in St. Paul, and St. Louis-based Whelan Security.

A job fair is being held at U.S. Bank Stadium Wednesday from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m.

Albert Wardle, a former Monterrey employee, was one of the first people through the door Wednesday.

"I loved the experience of being there with the Vikings," Wardle said. "It was just a beautiful experience to see the people, know the people and exactly where they were going."
