Husband Arrested after Woman Found Dead in Minneapolis Home

A Minneapolis woman is dead and her husband is under arrest following an incident Monday morning.

Minneapolis police say officers responded to a 911 call on the 1000 block of 61st Street West around 8:43 a.m. Monday.


Once inside the home, a release said officers located an adult female who was pronounced dead by paramedics.

The husband was arrested and has been booked into Hennepin County Jail. Police say they are not looking for any other suspects in connection to the matter, and are investigating the case as a domestic-related homicide.

A neighbor said it was clear the situation was dire.

"I just saw a tremendous amount of police cars," neighbor Richard Abdo said. "I also saw an ambulance and the coroner, and I thought, 'this is very serious.'"

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office will be the agency releasing the woman's identity, as well as the exact cause of death.
