Highway 169 Reduced to One Lane in Champlin This Weekend

Construction along Highway 169 in the north metro has been underway for weeks and this weekend is no exception.

Northbound Highway 169 between East Hayden Lake Road and Dayton Road is down to one lane in Champlin through the weekend. The southbound side is single lane between the Mississippi River to East Hayden Lake Rd. The work continues until 5 a.m. Monday.

According to the Minnesota Department of Transportation, crews will be installing a storm sewer pipe beneath the roadway as well as prepping for next year's replacement of the Elm Creek Bridges. Starting next spring, Highway 169 will be down to one lane for six to seven months. During this time, the roadway will be resurfaced between Brooklyn Park and Champlin and realigned just south of the Mississippi River.
