A fox that is believed to have had rabies was euthanized after biting two people near Lake Harriet.
Both incidents happened near the corner of Lake Harriet Parkway and West Minnehaha Parkway. The first incident happened about noon Tuesday, and the second incident happened about 5:15 a.m. Wednesday, according to Minneapolis city officials.
The fox suspected of biting the two people was captured about 8:15 a.m. Wednesday and was humanely euthanized by Animal Care and Control, officials say.
The fox is now being tested to see if it had rabies.
Community members in the area are encouraged to be on the lookout for other animals that may be infected.
