A former teacher charged in Dakota County with stalking a 12-year-old female student has changed his plea to guilty.

Twenty-five-year-old Cody Woodrow Hansen of Hastings pleaded guilty Thursday to stalking. He’s expected to be sentenced Nov. 17.

According to the criminal complaint, Hansen sent numerous suggestive messages to the girl on social media from November 2015 to January 2016. Hansen was a teacher at an Eagan middle school and has since resigned.
Authorities say the girl had screen shots of some of the messages and told investigators she "felt creepy and unsafe" in Hansen's classroom.

According to the school district, Hansen taught from 2013 until January of 2016, when he resigned. He was assistant Eagan High School wrestling coach from 2013-2015.
