Heavy Rains Expected Tuesday Night Could Bring Flash Flooding

Heavy rains could hit the Twin Cities and other parts of Minnesota on Tuesday.

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.


Thunderstorms are expected to develop Tuesday evening and could bring between 2-3 inches of rain an hour. About 4 inches of rain are possible in some areas.

The flash flood watch is in place for the following counties:

Hennepin, Ramsey, Carver, Dakota Sherburne, Washington, Scott, Wright, Anoka, Blue Earth, Faribault, Freeborn, Goodhue, Isanti, Le Sueur, McLeod, Nicollet, Rice, Sibley, Steele and Waseca.

The following Wisconsin counties are in the the flash flood watch: Pepin, Pierce, and St. Croix.
