1. U-M Regents Assure Lawmakers They Are Changing Culture When it Comes to Sexual Harassment


Two members of the University of Minnesota's Board of Regents assured state lawmakers Thursday they remain committed to strengthening sexual harassment policies at the school, in the wake of an investigation that found a high-ranking athletic official had violated those policies.

2. Trump Heads Abroad

President Donald Trump's maiden international trip, a five-stop marathon across the Middle East and Europe, has long loomed as a crucial first test abroad for the chaos-courting president

3. Bike to Work Day

Many people in the Twin Cities commute to work via bike, but a special event planned during Minneapolis Bike Month is geared to encourage new riders to pick up the trend. Ride Your Bike to Work Day is planned for Friday with pit stops planned throughout the city.

4. Hennepin County Sheriff's Office Open House

The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office plans to open its doors to the public for an open house Friday. The open house includes interactive displays from the dive team, mounted patrol and a look at the office's equipment and vehicles. The event is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Sheriff's Enforcement Services Division in Brooklyn Park.

5. Highway Closure

Northbound Highway 65 will close at 9 a.m. Friday between Mississippi Street and 73rd Avenue in Fridley. Detours will be posted. The highway is expected to reopen at 7 p.m. Saturday.
