A former Fergus Falls substitute teacher has been sentenced to five years in prison for distributing child pornography.

A release from the U.S. District Attorney of Minnesota's office said Joshua Noble, 39, was sentenced Thursday in U.S. District Court in Minneapolis.

Noble, a substitute teacher in Fergus Falls for around 15 years, pleaded guilty to one count of distribution of child pornography. 

The release states that undercover law enforcement officers observed Noble using an online messaging service known as Chatstep.com to obtain and distribute images depicting the sexual abuse of children. He was accused of possessing at least 244 such images, including some depicting infants and toddlers.
