Firefighters Battle Blaze at Farmhouse Near Forest Lake

Crews were on the scene of a fire at an abandoned farmhouse early Thursday in Columbus.

The deputy chief from the Forest Lake Fire Department says crews responded about 3 a.m. and knocked down the flames within about 15-20 minutes.

No firefighters were hurt.

It's not known at this time what started the fire.

Smoke rising from the fire could be seen miles away on traffic management cameras along Interstate 35.
