Eric Chaloux joined KSTP 5 Eyewitness News in March of 2015. He joined KCTV5 News in December 2002 as a general assignment reporter and quickly became a member of KCTV5's award-winning investigative unit. Prior to joining KCTV5, Eric held similar positions at stations in Kansas City, at KSPR-TV in Springfield, MO and KOMU-TV in Columbia, MO.
Eric has exposed legal, crime and political stories for nearly a decade in Kansas City. He won 2 Edward R. Murrow Awards for his investigative series involving millions of dollars in unpaid bills and bizarre collection practices of a local public utility. Two of Eric's recent undercover news investigations exposed flaws in the state sales tax collection programs that led to legislation being filed in Missouri and Kansas to correct the problems. These pieces received the Missouri Broadcaster's Association award for best news series of 2011. He's also been honored in the Missouri Senate for helping expose welfare fraud. Eric has also been the recipient of an Emmy Award for his investigative reporting.
Eric graduated from the oldest journalism school in the country at the University of Missouri. He also has a Juris Doctorate from Taft Law School.
Before working in television, Eric was a radio play-by-play and sports announcer covering high school and college teams around New England. He also hosted a weekly music radio show that aired in New England and parts of Canada. Eric grew up in New Hampshire. He's been skiing and skating since he was 3-years-old. He shares his wonderful life with his wife, daughter and son.
