An 87-year-old Murdock man was killed early Monday afternoon when the Ford Escape in which he was traveling was struck by a Dodge Ram traveling west on Highway 12 in Benson.

The crash occurred at around 12:43 p.m. on roads that were described in the state patrol incident report as wet.

The driver of the Escape, an 81-year-old Murdock woman, suffered non-life threatening injuries. The vehicle had been heading south on 19th Street and was attempting to cross Highway 12 when it was hit by the Ram. The driver of the Ram, a 42-year-old Granite Falls man, was not believed to have been injured.

Identifies of those involved are expected to be released Tuesday morning.
