Dog Owners Offer $10K Reward for Information About Suspect Who Shot, Killed Dog

The owners of a dog that was shot and killed are offering a reward for information that leads to the suspect involved.

The dog was reported missing in December. Its body was found on Pelican Lake Thursday.

Police said owners of the dog started receiving phone calls from a man who said he had the animal. The caller said he would return the dog for ransom money.

Police said the owners delivered the money, but never got the dog back.

On Wednesday, KSTP spoke with a Minneapolis bounty hunter involved in the investigation.

"It worries me that a person capable of doing this is in the community among people like you and I," bounty hunter Stew Peters said.
