A 21-year-old Cottage Grove man was killed in a two-car collision Sunday night in Pierce County, Wisconsin.

The Pierce County Sheriff's Office said Jacob T. Stanger was killed when the 2008 Infinity G37 he was driving collided head-on with a 2012 Ford F350 being driven by 38-year-old Charles E. Hill of Ellsworth, Wisconsin.

The crash occurred around 10:16 p.m. Sunday on U.S. Highway 10 near County Road O in Trimbelle Township. The release states both occupants were the lone passengers in their vehicles.

Stanger was pronounced dead on the scene by the Pierce County Medical Examiner. Hill was transported to Regions Hospital in St. Paul with undermined injuries.

The highway was closed for around three hours as the Wisconsin State Patrol completed a reconstruction of the accident.

The release states the accident remains under investigation.
