Reducing violence in Ramsey County schools will be a big focus over the next few months.

The Ramsey County Attorney’s Office created the Community Task Force on Safe Schools to better understand what contributes to incidents of violent youth behavior in schools and how to improve school safety.

The idea for the task force came up last December after several issues of violence against teachers and staff members.

About 40 parents, students, teachers and school resource officers are part of the task force and were chosen based on their direct involvement with youth and their diversity of personal and professional experiences.

An online survey will be available from July 25 to Aug. 12.

The task force will make its final recommendations early next year.
