Community members and city officials are demanding answers about what happened and why there isn’t video of an officer-involved shooting in southwest Minneapolis that left a 40-year-old woman dead.
A release from the BCA Sunday morning said two Minneapolis police officers responded to a 911 call regarding a possible assault in the Fulton neighborhood just before 11:30 p.m. Saturday.
The investigation cannot move fast enough for the people living in the neighborhood in which the shooting occurred.
Community members gathered Sunday night for a vigil to remember Justine Damond and to call for answers.
Minneapolis Mayor Betsy Hodges stressed that she and the police department would not have much information to share going forward.
The medical examiner is conducting an autopsy; however the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Investigation is now overseeing the investigation.
