The city of Columbia Heights welcomed some visitors from Poland on Tuesday. The visitors are from Lomianki, Poland, which is Columbia Heights’ sister-city.

The mayor of Lomianki and three representatives from the Polish National Police will be in Columbia Heights for the next week to learn about law enforcement in the United States and tour various locations in the Twin Cities metro area.

Last summer, Columbia Heights Police Chief Scott Nadeau and three other officers visited Lomianki to learn more about law enforcement there and build relationships with that community.

Community members are invited to meet the Polish visitors during a public reception, which takes place from 3-5 p.m. Wednesday at the new Columbia Heights Library.
