Victim Identified in Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash in Andover

Authorities identified the 17-year-old boy who was killed in an Andover hit-and-run crash Friday night.

The Anoka County Sheriff's Office identified the teen as 17-year-old Tristan Gene Robinson.

Cdr. Paul Sommer said Robinson was killed in the incident at 141st Avenue and Palm Street Northwest, which is near Coon Creek. 

Deputies responded to the 700 block of 141st Avenue at about 6:20 Friday evening on reports of someone down in the street. The teen was with friends at a nearby house before he stepped into the road, Sommer said.

"It's unusual for that to happen here," Sommer said, calling the neighborhood a high-density residential area. 

Robinson's friends said they heard a dull collision and screeching tires, but they did not see a vehicle. When they went outside, they saw him in the street with multiple injuries, according to the sheriff's office. He was pronounced dead at the scene.  

"There's at least one person out there who knows what happened," Sommer said. "I can tell you people do not get away with this."
