Kids Exercise to Fight Childhood Obesity

September 28, 2017 12:37 PM

It's national "Exercise US" day and schools across the country are doing their part to make sure kids take time out from school work to take care of their bodies.

In Minnesota, Chaska Middle School East let more than 700 students out of school to spend 15 minutes walking on the school track. It's aimed at stressing the importance of getting daily exercise to fight the growing problem of childhood obesity.

The event used to be held in October, but was moved to September to coincide with National Childhood Obesity Awareness Month.
