Century College Celebrates Half a Century

When it first opened, it was called Lakewood State Junior College and enrolled 503 students its first year.

Now, Century College in White Bear Lake sees more than 21,000 students each year. The school celebrated its 50th anniversary on Monday with a naming ceremony, as the mayors of White Bear Lake and Mahtomedi officially declared Sept. 18 "Century Day."
