The Chisago County Sheriff's Office responded to reports of a dozen canoers stranded on the St. Croix River Saturday night.

Tweets from the Sheriff's Office said the National Park Service helped guide the canoers safely to shore.

The sheriff's office said the group got lost about 9 p.m. Saturday sometime after entering the river south of Rush City. A member of the group called 911.

It was not immediately clear how they became lost, but a tweet said all the canoers "were guided to a landing and happy to be ashore." The sheriff's office said no injuries were reported.
