Authorities Identify Blaine Man Allegedly Killed by Father Friday

Authorities have identified the man who was allegedly killed by his father in Blaine on Friday.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office says 37-year-old Joshua Effertz died of multiple gunshot wounds.

Police say he was shot during a domestic dispute with his father.

The shooting was reported at 7:06 a.m. on the 3200 block of 89th Curve. Officers arrived to find Effertz lying in the street.


His 61-year-old father is in custody after turning himself in to police.

The Blaine Police Department and Anoka County Sheriff's Office are investigating.
