Previous Experience
Having lived for years in both Duluth and Winona, Bill is no stranger to Minnesota. He began his broadcasting career as a reporter then anchor for a Duluth television station before trading the frozen tundra for Memphis where was the morning news anchor at WMC-TV, and the evening news anchor at WPTY-TV. Over the years Bill has covered the big stories on a national level. He has covered news at the White House. He covered the 1998 impeachment of President Bill Clinton live from Washington, D.C. And he was here in Minnesota; live from the crash site of Northwest Airlink flight 5719 in Hibbing in 1993 where 18 people were tragically killed. You may have noticed that Bill loves to bring you stories about the outdoors. His special report on the expanding range of cougars in Minnesota was weeks ahead of a cougar that showed up in the Twin Cities in November of 2009.

Bill has multiple Emmy nominations. He also received a Minnesota Associated Press award for a story about wild rice harvesting with Ojibwe Indians. He was also honored in the fall of 2008 when emceed the National Civil Rights Museums's Freedom Awards.

Bill attended St. Mary's University in Winona and received a B.A. in English Literature. He received his Masters in Journalism from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.

Personal Interests
Bill loves spending time with his wife Sheri and three sons: John, William and Daniel. Bill and his busy family enjoy any kind of outdoor activity together especially fishing both from a boat and on the ice. They also like skiing together. One of Bill's big thrills was fishing with Minnesota fishing legend Al Lindner.

Charitable Work
Bill loves to help out local charities. He's been involved with the March of Dimes for more than a decade, has served on their board of directors and as a media spokesperson. Bill would love to serve as the emcee of your charity or church's next event. He also enjoys speaking to civic groups and schools about covering news in the Twin Cities and Minnesota.
