The Beltrami County Sheriff's Office said multiple individuals were arrested following a more than three-hour standoff at a residence about 14 miles southeast of Bemidji Thursday morning.

The report states the sheriff's office received a call around 3:40 a.m. Thursday from a distraught female who said she was in need of help.

The call was disconnected as officers attempted to gather additional information. Sheriff's deputies and Leech Lake Tribal officers were dispatched to the scene on the 100 block of Mission Road SE in Ten Lakes Township.

Upon arriving, officers made contact with the female caller who indicated people inside the residence may have been armed.

Further information gathered indicated the subjects were actively barricading themselves inside the home. Attempts to negotiate with them were initially unsuccessful, and the Headwaters SWAT Team was dispatched.

As negotiations continued, the report states some of the individuals exited. Just before 7 a.m., tear gas was deployed and multiple individuals were arrested.

The incident remains under investigation by both the Beltrami County Sheriff's Office and the Leech Lake Tribal Police Department.
