Trent Bennig is a computer science teacher at New Richmond High School, the same school at which his daughter thrived as a junior. He said his daughter did everything to the fullest.

He said there would be days she wouldn't tell her soccer coach she had a 102-degree fever because they didn't have anyone else to play, and she didn't want to let the team down.

Megan Bennig's family also said she had many friends and will be remembered as someone who loved to help people.

A memorial at New Richmond High School has been growing since news of the crash, as students come to terms with the loss.

The school says grief counselors would be on campus for anyone who needed to talk.

Megan Bennig's family says they are focusing on love through the grieving process.

The driver of the semi, 19-year-old Weston Gray, of Centuria, Wisconsin, was not injured in the crash. Both Megan Bennig and Gray were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.

Authorities were on the scene Thursday investigating and recreating the crash.
