Authorities say one person is in custody after a St. Paul man died from a gunshot wound in St. Croix County, Wisconsin.

The St. Croix County Sheriff's Office identified the victim as 19-year-old Chase Alan Fleischauer.


According to a news release from the St. Croix County Sheriff's Office, deputies and New Richmond police were called around 4 a.m. Sunday morning to Richmond Township on reports of a man who had been shot.

When officer arrived, they located Fleischauer, who had suffered a gunshot wound. Fleischauer was pronounced dead around 6:30 a.m.

Authorities said one person is in custody, however, they did not release the name of the suspect. 

The shooting remains under investigation.
